About the Artist

Mary Yorke is an Irish artist based in Dublin. In 1996 
she completed a Visual Education course and in 1997 
she returned to full time education.  In 2000 she got a 
Diploma in Fine Art from Dunlaoire Institute for Art Design 
and Technology.  

Mary's work was accepted for the Oireachtas exhibition 
and Eigse Art Festival in 2003.  Since then she has had a 
number of solo exhibitions, her first was in 2003 at the 
Bourne Vincent Gallery in the University of Limerick. Her 
paintings have been acquired the University of Limerick 
private businesses and collectors. In 2004 she was given 
an opportunity to exhibit in Belgrade at the headquarters 
of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe 
(OSCE).  In early 2005 she had another solo exhibition in 
Bray, Co. Wicklow.

In September of this year Mary's work will be exhibited in a 
group show in the newly opened Gallery at the Downshire 
House Hotel, Blessington.  Following that her next solo 
exhibition will be in November, where her new body of work 
will be shown in the Blood Transfusion Services Board 
Headquarters where Mary will be their inaugural emerging 
artist.
