In the coming year Mary Yorke will be travelling to China to hold some more exhibitions, updates will be posted here regularly so watch this space.

Shanghai Expo 2010 - Culture Ireland

This exhibition is among only a few large scale exhibitions that the 411 Galleries has undertaken. Artists that had previously shown in past exhibitions will be invited to attend this major event. 411 Galleries wanted an exhibition that would represent the many strands that is Irish visual art, this exhibition represents Irish Art as it is today.
The Shanghai Expo will have a soft opening on the 16th of June and on the 17th of June President of Ireland McAleese will visit the exhibition.


Shanghai EXPO - ChinaShanghai EXPO - China On the 19th of June at 2 PM the exhibition will be officially opened by Dr Breda Lynch who is also one of the participating artists. There will be a poetry reading by Eilean Ní Chuilleanain and music will be provided by guitarist Dermot King.

Refreshments will be provided by The Porter House Bar. The exhibition has already been featured on Shanghai Nuacht which is the magazine of the Irish community of Shanghai. The exhibition will also feature on three page spread on World Art magazine one of China’s most respected modern art magazines. It is also hoped that the exhibition will feature on Teilifis na Gaeilge’s “Immeal” programme.

Mary Yorke used painting as a creative outlet all her life. As well as exhibiting widely in Serbia and China, Mary Yorke still enjoys exhibiting her work locally. At the Nora Dunne Gallery this December she'll be displaying her new body of work which are based on her travels to China over the last 3 years.

Made in Ireland Exhibition 2008 - Held in Shanghai (China) at the 411 Galleries

Mary Yorke's next joint exhibition will be in March. She will be exhibiting alongside other Irish artists, displaying some of her most inspriational work. The exhibition first opened in Beijing on November 1st 2007 at the gallery space of the Irish Embassy. This will be the second MADE IN IRELAND Exhibition, it'll be held in the exhibition space of the Equatorial Hotel in Central Shanghai which will be officially opened by Mr. Nicholas O'Brien the Consul General of Ireland to China.

Mary's work will be exhibited in a group show in this upcoming event. Her work will be displayed in the newly opened gallery at the Downshire House Hotel, in Blessington.
This exhibition will be opening on the 25th October and can be viewed during the following opening times:
Mon - Fri :- 12pm till 5pm
Saturdays: - 11am till 2pm

Works by the Artist Mary Dempsey Yorke will be on show in this group exhibition. Joan Clancy Gallery overlooking Dungarvan Bay in the Ring Gaeltacht in Co Waterford, is situated between Coláiste na Rinne and the Cunnigar Beach. Open during exhibitions from 11:00am - 5:30pm daily including weekends, and also by appointment.
